Katia Koelle

Katia Koelle

Was a CIDD Postdoctoral Fellow until 2007; currently at Duke University

Research

While at CIDD, I was interested in using modeling approaches to understand the disease dynamics and evolution of multi-strain pathogens. In particular, my work focused on:

  1. The effects of strain diversity on disease dynamics
  2. The role that host immunity plays in creating selection pressures favoring the invasion of novel strain variants
  3. The role that seasonal and interannual climate variability plays in the dynamics of multi-strain diseases

Study systems

Cholera

Influenza

Publications before leaving CIDD included
