Research
I am interested in:
- Patterns of transmission and spread of common infectious diseases, especially nosocomial infections (those aquired in hospital settings)
- Coinfections and persistent infections, especially in the immunocompromised
Currently I am using using statistical modeling to investigate age-related incidence and seasonal variation in transmission of Parainfluenza Virus (PIV) and Respiratory Syncytial Viruses (RSV) in humans. I am also studying non-human RSV on a cellular level using western blots and real-time PCR.
